PARAMARIBO – The police officers from the Zanderij Police Department on Monday arrested two teenagers who had fought with each other.
17-year-old P.J. and 16-year-old D.I. who had gotyen into a heated argument which quickly turned into a violent fight pressed charges against each other after the fight. The police found out that the fight took place during school hours and that P.J. had threatened to gun down
D.I. Although classmates initially managed to restraint P.J., the situation escalated when he saw that D.I. got into an argument with one of his friends. P.J. decided to interfere and his involvement triggered a fight between two groups of students. P.J. claimed that D.I. approached him after the fight before kicking him in his chest. He fell on the ground and was atta ked by several boys. Both boys were brought to the Emergency Room at the Academic Hospital Paramaribo (AZP) for medical treatment. P.J. was referred to a specialist due to the nature of his injuries. The investigation was handed over to the Youth Affairs Division of the Police Force Suriname (KPS).
