“more than just another song release The track represents a genuine cultural exchange between two Caribbean artists, with roots tracing back to NigyBoy’s previous visit to Guyana where Remar directed a music video for the performer. That creative connection sparked the collaboration that would eventually become “Good Intentions. The project showcases an impressive roster of homegrown Guyanese talent. Producer Ridwaan crafted the beats, while Remar handled writing, recording, mixing, and mastering his own verse in May 2024. The production team included videographer and editor Dwayne Jordan, co-director and concept developer Jonathan Beepat, co-producer and engineer Joel Brown, and Jamar Marcus, who provided vocal support and served as a creative sounding board. The music video took four months to complete, with filming taking place in both Guyana and New York. According to Remar, the extended timeline reflected the team’s commitment to excellence and their navigation of creative perfectionism across multiple edits and cross-country shoots. Being your own creative director is a gift and a curse Remar noted. “You can be your own biggest critic, but thanks to my long-time creative partner Jonathan Beepat, we were able to shape the concept into something authentic and cinematic. The collaboration with NigyBoy proved to be particularly rewarding for Remar, who described working with the artist as “a joy.” Despite facing long hours and unexpected challenges during the New York portion of the shoot, NigyBoy’s professionalism and positive energy remained consistent throughout the production process. For Remar, the project represents something larger than individual artistic achievement. He sees “Good Intentions” as evidence that Guyanese creatives are prepared to compete on the international stage. “This isn’t just high-quality for Guyana, it’s high-quality by global standards,” Remar stated.
