BRUSSELS - NATO on Thursday said it was allowing Ukraine to buy weapons through the alliance's central procurement agency, as the war-torn country seeks...

to boost arms supplies. The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) said that Kyiv had joined a special cooperation partnership involving six alliance members. It said the move would mean that Ukraine was able to leverage the agency's "knowledge, skills, and expertise". An official said that Kyiv would be able to procure weaponry through the agency on a "case-by-case basis". "This partnership will help deeper connect Ukrainian industry with opportunities to grow, while enabling allies and partners to learn from Ukraine's battle-tested innovation and operational experience," said Jacqueline Borsboom, NSPA director of support to operations. The latest step will further increase Ukraine's cooperation with NATO, despite the United States under Donald Trump firmly shutting the door on Kyiv joining the alliance. NATO already helps oversee the delivery of Western weaponry to Ukraine and runs a joint centre to try to learn lessons from Russia's war on the country. Ukraine's fast-growing defence industry was already granted the right to sell defence equipment through NATO's procurement agency earlier this year. (Bssnews)
