GUYANA - Nineteen-year-old St. Lucian, Condoleezza Henry who was arrested last Sunday after an unlicensed firearm was found in her home,...
was remanded to prison last Wednesday on three charges. Henry, who resides at Guyhoc Squatting Area with 29-year-old Kristoff Nicholson, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty.
According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), Henry and Ni-cholson were both wanted for a robbery under arms/attempted murder com-mitted on Claudius Fraser, a 69-year-old operations manager at Caliber Securi-ty Service. During last Wednesday’s court hearing, Henry pleaded not guilty to the charges which alleged that on July 6, 2025 at Guyhoc squatting area, she had in her possession a .32 revolver and matching ammunition and one spent shell without being the holder of a firearm license.
It was also alleged that she, while in the company of another on June 20, 2025, on Princess Street Lodge, Georgetown, she robbed Fraser of .32 revolver val-ued $165,300 and $495,000 for a total value of $660,300 while being armed with a knife. The accused was not required to plead to the indictable charge which alleged that on the same day, at the said address, she unlawfully wound-ed Fraser with intent to murder him.
Henry told the court that the firearm belonged to her child father. The prosecu-tor objected to bail due to the serious nature of the offence and the need to pre-serve public safety. The prosecution said the victim was hospitalised and is scheduled for surgery. Magistrate McGusty denied Henry bail and the matter was adjourned to July 30, 2025. (Kaieteur News)
