and crime issues. He hopes to strengthen the collaboration between the police and the people further with this strategy. During his vists to the neighborhoods the local residents will be given the opportunity to share their concerns, experiences and suggestions with the highest ranking police official. The police commissioner who expects most residents to talk about break-ins, traffic safety, drug problems and other issues explained that an open and constructive dialogue is of the utmost importance in the fight against crime. According to the police commissioner, his trips to the neighbourhoods will give him a better understanding of the problems that the nation’s residential areas face. The Police Force Suriname (KPS) urges everybody to actively participate in the talks and to let their voice be heard. More information regarding these visits will be shared soon.
