cannot be reached by land because sections of the road are flooded and because the road is also in a bad shape”, said district commissioner Kevin Bronne.

There is a crack in the road at Mozes Creek and this makes the road dangerous for drivers. Travelers also face problems at Witagron because the pontoon cannot bring them across the river due to the high water level. Local residents, travelers and transporters complained that they cannot reach nor leave Kabalebo by land and that they have to rely on boats to get them to their destinations. DC Bronne explained that the current situation is not uncommon because the water levels always rise in the rainy season. The authorities are keeping a close eye on the situation and they have already urged people to remain cautious on the road and not to underestimate the situation. As long as the water level remains high, it will not be possible to reach Kabalebo by land. The people who travel by land to reach or leave Kabalebo therefore hope that the water level will drop in the next couple of days.
