President Jennifer Geerlings-Simons chooses to keep strategic state companies. The shrimp company is operating at a loss but is located on a huge piece of land along the Suriname River in Paramaribo. The buildings and production facilities that are also located on the premises could prove valuable for public purposes which is why the current administration does not want to sell this prime real estate.
