last Saturday after leaving a wedding reception. Dead is Kelly Raymondo of St. Ignatius Village in Central Rupununi, Region Nine. It was reported that the incident occurred between 22:00hrs and 23:30hrs on the Kumu Trail, Central Rupununi involving a motorcycle.

According to a police statement, the teen was at a wedding reception in Kumu Village, allegedly consuming alcohol with her friends. Raymondo, at approximately 22:00hrs left the reception with a motorcycle, which is owned by a 25-year-old female, proceeding south on the said trail at an allegedly fast rate. “It is suspected that while in the process of crossing the bridge along the trail, Raymondo lost control and crashed into the western edge, subsequently falling over into the water below, where she received injuries to her head and about her body,” police said.

The statement noted that about 23:30hrs, a passerby discovered that the 17-year-old was lying motionless in the water with the motorcycle a short distance away. Police visited the scene and they escorted the unresponsive Raymondo to the Lethem Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
