during undercover operations. When an infiltrator has to commit a crime to continue an investigation, permission for this crime must be anchored in the infiltration order. If there is no permission, the infiltrator must report it to the prosecutor who will then decide if the operation can go through or if it has to be aborted. Minister Monorath explained that this permission must also be anchored in the law which is why an amendment is required. But this raises a lot of suspicion especially given the fact that several high ranking police officers were involved in criminal activities. Some legislators have their doubts about giving such a heavy tool to the police force especially given the fact that criminal activities sometimes took place collectively within the force and that prosecutors were also aware of it.
