PARAMARIBO- “The Ministry of Public Works and Spatial Planning (OWRO) has no cleaning ladies and security guards,” said Minister Stephan Tsang who came into office this week. “All of the cleaning ladies have been promoted to supervisors.
The security guards have also been promoted. So we are looking for a solution,” said Minister Tsang who added that the personnel policy and the projects that were launched are cause for concern. The section of the Van ’t Hogerhuysstraat that reaches the bridge across the Saramacca Channel requires a complete overhaul. Road users are complaining about the entire Van ’t Hogerhuysstraat. But given the current state of affairs it will not be possible to present a sustainable solution yet. Minister Tsang has already started his first project by issuing a recall of all of the vehicles that belong to the ministry for a reregistration. Each executive may only have one vehicle at his or her disposal. The workers at the ministry also can no longer get fuel at the gas stations at the expensive of the government. Anybody who wants fuel from the ministry must explain on paper why he or she should get it.
