19:20 last Tuesday left the moped riders with serious injuries. Police officers from the Paradise Police Station rushed to the scene after having received the call about a traffic accident. When they arrived at the scene they quickly noticed that the tractor did not have any lights. The police officers also found out that the tractor had not been brought to a repair shop for a vehicle inspection and that the owner also did not have any insurance. Shortly before the accident the 21-year-old moped rider, J.A., and the 40-year-old driver of the tractor were driving in the same direction when the moped hit the rear of the tractor. The moped rider who fell on the asphalt sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Emergency Room of the Mungra Medical Center (MMC) in the Nickerie District before being admitted to the hospital for observation. The driver of the tractor did not sustain any injuries. Both vehicles were impounded by the police.
